The vicar of Cumsdale is a highly unorthodox priest: importing wines, beers and spirits, plus tobacco from France. He earns himself a fortune but gives the church a small percentage to appease his superiors. But he's also growing canabis in a greenhouse behind his church, renting out a room in the vicarage to a prostitute and maintaining distinctly unapastoral relationships with several local married women, and convent girls and young nuns from the nearby Hardmound Convent. The Vicar of Cumsdale has his work cut out staying a head of his suspicious superiors, even more so when Josie, a young tabloid journalist scents the scoop of the decade and gets on his trail...
